This Information May Help Me

I just learned something really interesting about the way babies learn a new language. Apparently, they are born with the ability to distinguish between every sound in the human language. Before they reach the age of one, however, they have started to lose it in favor of the sounds of their native language. By the time they are seven, it is all but gone. I think I can use this information in the esl lesson I teach. If the problem is in distinguishing the sounds, maybe it would help if I exaggerate them. I’ll have to be careful, though, not to make my students feel like children.
