Becoming a good wedding photographer

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

There are many people currently studying to become good wedding photographers in schools, on the internet and working as assistants.  These are all great ways to become good at your chosen craft but with all things you try to learn, practice makes perfect.  Simply understanding how a camera works won’t make you a good photographer.  You need to get out and shoot, then shoot some more.  You’ll also need to know your equipment inside and out and that includes your computer photo software.  Since darkrooms have gone the way of the dinosaur, having a grasp on photoshop or any other digital darkroom is imperative.

My Artistic and Poetic Cousin

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

I only discovered recently that my cousin Clare has started to make her own greeting cards. She sent me the most adorable little card which contained a truly heartfelt sentiment. I make my own cards also, but when it comes to the words, I just can’t seem to get it to look right on paper. My cousin certainly has a flair for this and I wish that I was able to create the results that she achieves. Maybe I can find a card making class that will teach me some of those crafts or maybe I should just ask Clare to give me a few lessons!

Know about free printable piano lessons

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

We like to have free stuff even if it is music. There are free printable piano lessons available online that can be downloaded to fulfill all piano learning desires. But do they really work? What is actually free? Are these marketing techniques? Most of the online sites claming to provide free lessons provide only few lessons of basic stuff and then ask you to become a paid member to get the other lessons. These are all marketing techniques. First they generate interest in you by offering a free membership, sending you a link to a free lesson every day or week and then send you details of how to become paid members. In case, you ignored the mail and did not become a paid member, they start sending mails with discount offerings. There is nothing free as such when it comes to the real learning process.

Art and Craft Supply Online

Sunday, December 6th, 2009

I’ve been trying out some traditional art and craft hobbies since watching an instructional program on the TV recently,  but at first I had enormous difficulties finding decent craft supplies. Living in a remote location, there aren’t many art and craft supply shops near to me and the nearest big city is twenty miles away. We just recently got our broadband connected and so I thought I would take a look online to see what was on offer there. I found a website called Liz’s Crafts who have a large selection of card making and general craft supplies. I placed a small order with them to start with and was pleasantly surprised when the order arrived next day, well packaged. They even sent me a text message to say that the order was on it’s way. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to buy art and craft supplies online.

New Card Making Supplies Shop

Sunday, December 6th, 2009

For about seven years or so I have been practising the art of card making and scrapbooking, but due to the remote location of where I live, I found it virtually impossible to find a local shop where I can go to buy my card making and scrapbooking craft supplies. There is one large craft store in the nearest town, but on every occasion that I have visited, they have not had what I was looking for. Then a couple of months ago, a small shop opened in our village which is dedicated to card making supplies. Now I spend most lunchtimes there and I am often so engrossed with the plentiful craft materials they supply, I am often late back for work!

Creative Projects

Sunday, December 6th, 2009

My children have always loved to make crafts and create their very own masterpieces.  I found a really nice kit which included some Card Making Crafts.  The kids love it and really enjoy getting creative and designing their own cards.  We have made a few birthday cards and one for a baby shower.  They turned out great.  The children are so very proud of their finished product.  I am glad that they enjoy doing these types of activities with me.  I truly enjoy watching them get creative and seeing how they express themselves through the completion of these card making crafts.

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

I invested quite a bit of my hard earned money in this computer that I now use, and I wanted it to be the best machine that I could afford. It was custom built for me by a local computer shop and they gave me some good advice while I was there. For music downloads, they suggested that I use ares. I wanted it to be a fast machine with no lag time or freezes and the guy at the shop who really knows computers advised me to steer clear of things that contain malware. He told me how those rob you of computer resources.
