Male pedestrian hit while walking dog on the side of the road
This pedestrian accident case arose while the male victim was walking his dog. He was on the side of a roadway without sidewalks. The victim suffered multiple injuries from the accident. His ankle was fractured. He also sustained a ruptured spleen which resulted in substantial internal bleeding. This in turn lead to renal failure and required that he undergo dialysis for the rest of his life. At 57, he will likely undergo a kidney transplant in the future. Following this accident, the driver pled guilty to a charge of driving while intoxicated. Although the driver disputed liability, the law firm that handled this case reported a settlement of $2.5 Million.
